JOB DESCRIPTION:
Provide technical and integration support for the Mobile Communications Vehicle (MCV) project.
: Prepare and maintain SPAWARSYSCEN Atlantic Building 198 Vehicle Integration Bay (VIB) for mass integration efforts.
:Integrate communications, network, and power equipment
:Install racks and brackets.
:Upgrade vehicle platform power system
:Install antennas on roof of each vehicle.
:Install network equipment within each vehicle.
:Install communications equipment within each vehicle.
:Perform initial power and data connectivity tests on integrated components through the installation process.
:Fabricate, test, and integrate all required cables to include CAT6, complex payload system DC and AC power system cables, RF (Heliax/LMR/RG), audio system cables, security surveillance system cables, and vehicular low voltage DC cables.
:Redline drawings to note discrepancies discovered during integration
:Revise and update the MCV Integration Manual
Qualifications
:
Education: High School diploma or GED. Formal electronics training from: Technical School, or Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or four (4) year electronics apprentice program. Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.
Required: Understanding of C4ISR integration into ground vehicle platforms. Experience: Eight (8) years of practical experience, to include: Electronics Repair, Maintenance, Installation and Checkout. Two (2) years of experience, to include: supervision, and shop practices. Three (3) years of practical experience, to include: electronics repair and installation, and six (6) years of experience with the task specific project. Note: Experience may be concurrent.
Preferred: Experience with design, integration, troubleshooting and basic operation of combinations of the following communications systems and associated antennas into a commercial platform:
: Commercial (Wideband) SATCOM
: Narrowband (Military) SATCOM
: Cellular Voice and Data Systems
: Wireless Data Networks
: Military and Public Safety Line of Site Radio Systems
: Computer systems (Thick and Thin Client)
: Networking systems (multi:level security)
: Controlled Cryptographic Items (CCI)
: Power and grounding systems
: Peripheral devices (connectors, cabling, terminators, coupling, keyboard/video /mouse switches, etc)
: Other communications systems as directed
